Cookie Policy

Fast ID keeps a small amount of information in your browser. Some of it is necessary for the product to work. One category is optional, and you decide whether we use it.

Necessary storage

This is what Fast ID needs in order to function at all. It is not optional, and none of it is sent to us as analytics — with one exception, which is the choice below about analytics itself. When you answer the cookie question, we may count that a choice was made, and which one. That count is not linked to you or to anything else you do.

• A claim you have started — kept in your browser so it survives a reload and you do not lose your progress. It stays until the claim resolves or you clear this site’s data.
• Your choice about analytics — kept for about a year, so you are not asked again on every visit.
• Short-lived sign-in information — needed while you are completing a flow that sends you to another site and back. It exists only for the length of that flow.

Optional analytics

Off unless you choose Allow analytics. We use it to see which parts of Fast ID people get stuck on, so we can improve it — the same purpose the banner states.

• A random identifier for your browser — created only after you allow analytics. It is not your name, your wallet address or your IP address. It does persist between visits, which is why we call it pseudonymous rather than anonymous: it links your visits to one another, and an anonymous identifier would not.
• Your country — the country only, never a more precise location, and only when it is available to us.
• How Fast ID is used — which steps you reached and how they ended, so a broken path shows up as a pattern rather than waiting for someone to report it.

Never recorded: your name, your wallet address, and your IP address.

We also keep a count of how many people answer the cookie question at all, so we know whether the choice is understood. That count is not connected to you or to anything else you do.

If your browser asks sites not to track you, Fast ID records no analytics — even if you previously chose Allow analytics.

Reporting a bug

The Report a bug page is part of Fast ID, so if you have allowed analytics it is covered by the same analytics as any other page. We record that a report was sent and whether it was signed or anonymous. What you write is never analytics — not the description, not the area or severity you pick, not the page you came from, and not your wallet or signature.

“Anonymous” there means the absence of identity in the submitted report — not the absence of the analytics you already allowed. Choosing Send anonymously keeps your wallet out of the report itself. If you want neither, see Changing your choice below — by the time you are reading this you have already answered the banner, so the button that switched analytics off is no longer on screen.

Changing your choice

Choosing Essential only stops optional analytics and immediately erases the random identifier stored in your browser.

One thing does not stop: we may still count that a cookie choice was made, and which one — for Essential only just as for Allow analytics, because the point of the count is to know whether people understand the question at all. It records nothing else, it is not linked to you, it is not made everywhere on the site, and it is not made at all if your browser asks sites not to track you.

Fast ID does not yet have a setting to reopen this choice once the banner is dismissed. To change it today, clear this site’s data in your browser settings — Fast ID will ask again on your next visit.

Erasing the identifier stops future activity from being linked to what came before. It does not reach backwards: anything already sent cannot be recalled by clearing your browser, because a control in your browser cannot reach information that has already left it.
